| Two things I must ask to New Yorkers...do you not have access to deodorant or a gym?? From becoming a public transportation rider, I have found 2 things. a) People don't wear deodorant. I'm sorry but do you smell that stench that makes you want to puke?? Oh, it's you! So, please don't lift your arm up to grab the handle bar when you know you smell bad. Or at least don't stand in front of people so that they all cover their noses to stop from smelling you. And women...shave your underarms, it ain't pretty.
b) I have always had the assumption that city people were skinnier than suburban because they walked everywhere and had exercise on a daily basis. I was proven wrong by the many overweight riders who try to squeeze into the window seat. When you need to push yourself into the seat, I think that should be a sign that you need to eat less and find a gym.
So that's the homework for you public transportation riders. Have it done by tomorrow. | | |
| I'm backkkkkkk!! Yes, I know it's been a while since my last entry, well, like a year. And many things have happened. I GRADUATED COLLEGE! Definitely a major stepping stone in my life but I was ready for get out of University of Delaware. I will miss the friends and the atmosphere but we all have to let go at some point right? I spent the month of June sleeping til 1pm, hanging out with friends, visiting my brother and his girlfriend in Canada and preparing for my job in New York!! I'm glad you all have confidence in me that I will be fine and adjust to city life. So, if you're ever in New York and you see a girl in the subway station with a huge map looking at where to go...that's me. No no, it's not so bad but, NYC people certainly don't have any sympathy for people who are new to the town. They just glare at you and give you the look that you're new and you better adjust fast. I started my job on Tuesday, what am I doing? I'm a service coordinator, I help families with children under the age of 3 with a possible diagnosis of developmental delay or autism. After the diagnosis, I help the family get help for the areas needed for improvement, like a physical therapist, speech therapist, the list goes on. People are very nice to me and when I tell them I'm from Delaware they are very accepting. But usually, they come back around and are like "I went to Delaware once, a few years ago, it was quiet". The job has a ton of paper work and writing reports, adding or decreasing therapy. It'll be a lot of work but definitely worth it. Hey, I'm working in New York City! I have a lot of free time now that I don't have any clients so be sure to catch me before the work picks up! | | |
| Yesssss, the good stuff just keeps coming in. My summer is complete! I got an internship!! I interviewed with Philadelphia Style Magazine last Friday and the lady I interviewed who was really interested in me. And she explained that as her intern, I'm basically her bitch but the perks are that I get to go to parties and happy hour. Hells yeah! Too bad it's not paid but I get to go to parties for my job! I can't stop ending my sentences with exclamation points! Don't worry my friends, I will be getting you guys into the parties for sure. yayyyyyyyy! <--that's me!! Well...not with the weird smile. | Wow, I haven't written in an extremely long time but I've got enough news now to update you with. I have another cast cause my stupid wrist is still broken. It's bright red and yes, I am letting people sign it. Airport security had a fun time with me because of it, I was asked several times if I hid anything down my cast to make a bomb. And I brought my school backpack on the trip and forgot to take out my pencil case, and it had a compass in it and the guard found it along with a calculator and gave me this look like I was planning on making a bomb with a compass, calculator and the stuff I hid in my cast. Oh the joys of riding an airplane. For Spring break, my mom and I went to visit my brother in Canada. He's in Toronto studying art and I think he likes it up there. The weather was really nice, my mom and I were expecting blizzard conditions and below freezing weather, but it was 70 and sunny the whole time we were up there. We went to the CN Tower for dinner at their revolving restaurant and it was probably the best food I've ever had. Break was too short but it was much needed, now it's the second half of spring semester and I'm coming in on the home stretch of my junior year. I can't believe I'm going to be a senior next year! The thought of it just blows my mind. Anyways, moving on to the best news, I'm really excited for this one....my mom and I have been planning this for two years and we're finally gonna do it....WE'RE GOING TO ITALY FOR VACATION!!!!! I'm so freakin excited you would never believe it. My mom and I really wanted to go last summer but plans fell through with my brother moving to Canada and all. So, my mom and I were talking about going and turns out my brother's vacation falls in the time we want to go, so we're going!!! Also, my aunt and my cousin are coming and I'm really excited. Italy!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Ciao! | | |
| Wow, it's been a long time since I've written an entry. Alot has happened, Chinese New Year, finding housing, breaking my wrist and much more. The past weekend was the most eventful because as you probably know, I broke my wrist. No no, I didn't fall, well...I did, but I fell during snowboarding. I took the UD Bus trip up to Big Boulder with Alan, Jarcy, Dan and Micki. I was really glad that I got the hang of snowboarding, but it;s unfortunate that it got cut short when I broke my wrist. Luckily, it was near the end of the day so I sat out for like 2 hours. On Sunday, I went to the ER to get an xray and the first shot that the guy took, he was like "yeah, your wrist is broken". So, on Monday, I went to the orthapedic surgeon and got all casted up. It's a pretty green and I have to wear it for the next 3 weeks. Worst part is that it's my right hand, I can still write but it;s really sloppy. It's funny cause in 5th grade when everyone seem to be breaking a bone, I really wanted to break a bone so I could be part of the crowd. But, now that I've broken a bone, I don't want to anymore, it's really painful and the cast is annoying. No worries, I'm fine, but I'm not letting people sign my cast, I think it'll look tacky and yucky. Sorry, NO SIGNING! In other news, I've found housing for next year, I'll be liviing in Ally and Veronika's house, yay!! It's a long story that I don't want to get into but if you ask me, I'll tell you. Also, I finally quit my job, yup, bye bye American Eagle. With my wrist, I really can't work and my bosses have been really pissy lately and I don;t want to deal with that. I think when my wrist gets better, I'll find a job somewhere else, if not, just chill til summer. Well, there's the update about my life....how's yours? | | |
